    Is Discworld the best?

...are superb. Having said that, I'm not beyond criticising his output - for my tastes 'Snuff' is dreadful, as is the much earlier 'Moving Pictures'. Still, those are but minor hiccups compared to Terry's largely superb output which has kept me entertained for hundreds (perhaps thousands?) of...

SPOILERS Gaspode the Wonder Dog (maybe Spoilers)

I need to get a copy of moving pictures again and read the end bit where he escapes :)

SPOILERS Gaspode the Wonder Dog (maybe Spoilers)

I read somewhere that in the original draft of Moving Pictures, Terry killed Gaspode off. One of his editors insisted that he rewrite that bit so Gaspode survived. ;)

If I remeber correctly Gaspode survives Moving Pictures, he's rescued together with Laddie ;)

SPOILERS Gaspode the Wonder Dog (maybe Spoilers)

...just finished Men at Arms (absolutely brilliant!) and was hoping at some point it would explain how he came to still be alive after Moving Pictures. In moving pictures he met his death in the burning cinema yet miraculously appears in Men at Arms. Does this become clear in later books (if...

    SPOILERS Sourcery Discussion **Spoilers**

...in Sourcery is not Dinwiddie. The Librarian is Dr Horace Worblehat. One of the reasons for choosing Ridcully as Archchancellor is that he really was away during the events in Sourcery. By the way - Moving Pictures is the next discussion and the first appearance of both Ridcully and Ponder.

Great comments, II see your point about UA compared to Moving Pictures, Pyramids and Soul Music, especially MP and SM. He likes throwing the wizards in when he imports "cultural" stuff from our world like popular music, cinema, sport or fashion - despite being a bunch of old men they are also...

...to his "one shot" type stories. He's done rock music, films, newspapers - why not football? I loved his take on orcs too. I wouldn't put it in my top 10, but I felt it was on a par with Moving Pictures or Soul Music or Pyramids. *edited to hide spoilers! Phew, that was close, I nearly forgot.
