Only just saw this ... thanks Bouncy

We didnt have tv as kids but lapped it up later.

I was living in a mining town up north years ago and the town only got one channel on reception.

I was visiting my nephews at my sisters house and we were all playing in the front yard... all the houses had unfenced lawns on the front and lots of kids would wander to and from each others houses to play. Batman came on at 5pm... time to come home for Batman, a shower and dinner.

So the mums would turn the TV up...

Now if you can imagine a whole TOWN of 15,000 with all their TV's tuned to only ONE station....

Banananananananananana BATMAN would come at your in superstereo sound up and down the streets. Weird.

ANd since it was the only kids show on in the afternoon all the kids wanted to watch it.

So one minute you would have hundreds of kids playing on lawns, riding bikes and kid noise.... then Bananananananana Batman... then nothing but the sounds of the birds
