In "The Truth" William pays Cripslock 20 dollars to make five copies of his letter which he then forwards to interested parties for 5 dollars each - making by my calculations a profit of 5 dollars a month - however the book says he makes 30 dollars a month.

How does that work then?
It has been niggling me for years

Maybe he's quoting gross profit instead of net profit, to make his business seem more profitable (like on the Apprentice). Or maybe he's good with words but crap at maths!

I'd forgotten about the letter for the dwarfs. I guess it depended on how many he wrote and how much he charged. ;)

Presumably he read letters for folk as well. :)
