I'm a bit surprised that "A Christmas Story" was only mentioned once. Maybe this is a cultural divide thing? Here in the states, it's probably in the top five of everyone's Xmas movie list (and is shown incessantly on cable year after year after year after year).

What's it about? o_O
A gun from what i just saw
I just looked it up and I have seen it. It's about a young kid in the 40s who wants a BB gun for Christmas but is told that he'll shoot his eye out.

There's a very memorable scene of the kid daring his friend to put his tongue on a metal pole in the playground during very cold weather.

My favourite christmas films are

The polar express
The nightmare before christmas
National Lampoon's christmas vacation
Love actually (Alan Rickman is in it  )
Gremlins
Die hard (again Alan Rickman)
Tri orísky pro Popelku (Three wishes for Cinderella)

In Norway each year in December there is a christmas series of 24 episodes shown on tv. I love watching this as well :)
Is this done anywhere else?

Every year I watch Scrooged, It's a Wonderful Life, a selection of Christmas Carols, Miracle on 34th St (1st and last, not the 70's version), and The Santa Clause 1, 2 & 3. I don't have a favourite, christmas calls for them all to be watched (or something would be missing).

My favourite one is Muppet Christmas Carol, but I can only watch this on Christmas Eve because 'after all its only one more sleep till Christmas'

Coming in a very very very close second is Bernard and the Genie

Next would have to be Home Alone 2 and then 1 in order of bestest
