My local library has a book sale going, each book 1 £, and I've picked up some books that caught my eye. Some of them are probably rubbish and I'll end up giving them away to a jumble sale or something.
However I did manage to find a book that my mother's been looking for for ages, so she'll be very pleased

I found a first edition hardback of Knight of Madness (short stories by various authors including Terry Pratchett's 'Hollywood Chickens'). That was £3 - more than I'd normally pay for a second hand book, but well worth it. :)

I also found 'Notes From a Small Island' by Bill Bryson for £1. I've never read any of his books, but lots of people have recommended him, so I'll give it a go.

Not quite the holy grail of discworld fandom but i managed to get a copy of the USA book club 1984 edition of Colour of Magic with the Alan Smith cover in fine condition with a dustcover in great condition for around £20 delivered. Can't believe the price. Much cheaper than even the Facsimile they did recently. Bloody Bargain.

i just won the four miniature books on ebay for 12 quid, which i think is a bargain

Well done getting them for that price.

I want those as well. I have two, but someone spilt a liquid beverage on them, I did get both for 25p, I know, but I would like decent copies.

I just picked up a first edition hardback of Robert Rankin's Toyminator from Poundland. They only had one copy left in the Cardiff branch, but you might find it in your local Poundland.

(Yes chris.ph - it was a pound. :p )

Found ISWM hardback 1st edition in a charity shop it was not due to go on sale so I paid £3.00 and got it now or it would have been £2 if I had waited for it but someone may have got there before me so it was worth the extra £1.00.

Some good finds there guys! I saw a first edition hardback of Nation in a charity shop the other day for £1.50. But it was the American edition and I didn't really need to get it. Hopefully someone who doesn't have a copy will pick it up. ;)
