BBC One has confirmed its primetime lineup for the Christmas period.

An hour-long Doctor Who special 'The Snowmen' will air at 5.15pm on December 25th, with Strictly Come Dancing following at 6.15pm.

A festive edition of Call The Midwife is currently scheduled for 7.30pm, and EastEnders will then transmit at 8.45pm.

The Royle Family's Christmas special - which will see Dave (Craig Cash) plot to pitch an idea on Dragons' Den - will then air at 9.45pm.

Both Miranda and Mrs Brown's Boys will air their own Christmas episodes on Boxing Day - at 9pm and 9.30pm respectively.

Other confirmed dates include the Strictly final - 6.30pm on December 22nd - and the series launch of period crime thriller Ripper Street on December 30th.

There's a poster on the BBC POV boards (Points of View) Dug, who is in Scotland somewhere, not sure if it's Edin or Glasgae (her screen name is Bidie In, which took me a long time to realise what it meant! Shocking!!), and she gets imperially pissed off at the lack of Eng/Wales/N. Ireland ITV stuff that STV doesn't show. I think STV had an argument with main ITV a year or so ago.

Lots of gaelic shows, instead of the programmes we get Darn Sarf, and elsewhere.

She was not impressed that the Rod Stewart Christmas Show thingy was being shown on STV before the rest of us get it!!

You guys get some nice TV shows during Christmas time ><

Not that we don't get any nice ones but you guys get Lady and the Tramp, it's one of my favorite Disney movie (after 101 Dalmatians and few others) and Doctor Who, A Christmas Carol (if we're talking some version of the Charles Dickens childrens book), Alice in Wonderland, LOTR and Home Alone 2

We get every Christmas: Santa Claus' Hot Line (where little children can call and sing to the Santa and Santa talks with them, I watch it every Christmas), Joulupukki & Noitarumpu (Santa Claus & the witch drum or something like that in english), Snowman (http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lumiukko_(elokuva)), Christmas Peace ceremony (it's this tradition which is held in Turku, the old capital of Finland, where a man reads this very old document about peace stuff, like it's a law about how Christmas Peace lasts for 20 days etc).
Sometimes some channels show Home Alone 1, some other Christmas movies etc but not as many as you guys get.
