Hi all! First of all i'd like to say i'm a massive fan of the Discworld books and Terry's writing style. I'd have to say 'Mort' is my personal favourite (and from what I hear is most people's favourite, or at least in their top 3) closely followed by 'Thud!' :)

I'm posting here because i'm hoping to get hold of Mr Pratchett.

I've just finished my second year of a pharmaceutical sciences degree and I was lucky enough to be selected to work with a very talented lab team researching one of the elements in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease this summer.

I appreciate that Terry is a very busy man and that he cannot reply to all correspondence, but there is something that I was hoping to be able to ask him.

Thanks
Tom

Welcome to the site, Tom!

As far as we know, Terry doesn't read this site - he certainly hasn't posted here (unless he was in disguise  ). I would suggest that you try contacting him via Colin Smythe, his agent.

Good luck!

Hi Forsh :p

Mort isn't even in my top ten. o_O

Neither is Thud. o_O

I'm sure someone will say something like "We don't know if TP reads this, so it'd be better to contact his publisher" (or something like that!)
You were right, Pooh. :p Whatever next?

Thanks guys! Nice to find a forum where people treat each other with respect!

I'll try sending an email to Colin :)

Also, on the off chance you were interested - i'm working on the second year of this project.

Cheers
Tom

Yeah....... bet he just wants some spoilers for Snuff! ;)

Welcome to the forum Tom!

Your research sounds interesting. Good luck with the project. I had a friend who was a scientist at the same time as some neurological problems were diagnosed with my youngest girl. He was always going on about proteins and how he thought they were the key.

Feel free to drop in and talk about Thud and Mort anytime you want a break from the lab. There are always discussions going on .... and sometimes we even discuss the Discworld books too.

Edit: Ohhhhhh theyhave a SHOP to raise money for AD! Loads of cards and calendars........ when are you lot releasing "Brainy and Buff: 12 Months of Near Naked Neuologists!" ?
