Anne Hathaway has been cast as Catwoman and Tom Hardy (Inception, Rocknrolla) has been cast as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises!!

COOL BEANS

I'll let the press release speak for itself:

Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises.” She will be starring alongside Christian Bale, who returns in the title role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Christopher Nolan stated, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story.”

In addition, Tom Hardy has been set to play Bane. Nolan said, “I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies.” Nolan will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote with Jonathan Nolan, from a story by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer. Nolan will also produce the film with his longtime producing partner, Emma Thomas, and Charles Roven. “The Dark Knight Rises” is slated for release on July 20, 2012. The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

More casting news! As well as Brit actor Henry Cavill (The Tudors) as Supes, Kevin Costner as Pa Kent and Diane Lane as Ma Kent, it has just been announced that Amy Adams is to play Lois Lane in the Superman movie - Man of Steel! I think this is a great choice, not only is she a great strong (mentally) actress but I am suprised she has not played a reporter before. In her Amelia Earheart in Night at the Museum 2 ire almost channelled Katherine Hepburn, who I always think of bs the classic female reporter stereotype, also done brilliantly by Jennifer Jason Leigh in The Hudsucker Proxy. :)

I like Anne Hathaway. She is a tiny little thing though. We stood about five feet away from her at a movie premier (We went to Movieworld just up the road for a day out with the girls and the premier was also on that day).

Her legs were about the width of my wrist! Scarey how thin these girls get.

Superman news and sort-of news.

First: "METROPOLIS, HEAR ME!"

Laurence Fishburne is Perry White

Good job he left CSI. Great casting choice in my opinion.

And in sort of news: Henry Cavilll has evolved the Superman curl needed to look the part as Supes.
