It's been a few years since I read anything Discworld-related. (Gee, no surprise), when I read about this book in "Poke in the Eye".

1. "Poke" article here: https://betterthanapokeintheeye.co.uk/articles/review-paul-kidby-salisbury-museum
2. Another review (American) and links to buy the book in UK/US are here: https://geekdad.com/2024/11/designing-terry-pratchetts-discworld-a-book-review/
and
3. book available in Australia here: https://www.booktopia.com.au/design...-discworld-paul-kidby/book/9780857529480.html

Has anyone else read this book? What did you think? Just curious. :)

I quite enjoyed it - Paul Kidby talks about his process, his inspiration, and how it was like working with Terry, while showing off lots of his Discworld art - both old pieces and new (ones done in the last few years).

If you're a fan of Kidby's art, and you want to know more about where he got his inspiration for character designs and what famous artworks he sometimes parodies, then I definitely recommend getting this.

You can even order it directly from Paul Kidby's website, signed, and it's no more expensive than getting it from Discworld.com.

...

As for other Discworld works in the last few years, I also would heartily recommend "Tiffany Aching's Guide to Being a Witch" by Rhianna Pratchett and Gabrielle Kent, with illustrations by Paul Kidby. It quite deftly summarises the lore of Witchcraft from the entire series, adds a few extra little tidbits, and also has some very funny commentary scribbles from Granny, Nanny, Miss Tick, Mrs Earwig and Rob Anybody scrawled in the margins.

Dug, due to complicated reasons, I didn't get to read "Poke" until now. (Sorry). ;)

Molokov, thanks! I had a look at Paul's website, which is beautiful.

And yes, I've read "Tiffany Aching's Guide to Being a Witch" a year or so ago. I just forgot, sorry.
