It's not for all iPads though... :( only for those capable of running iOS6 - which by chance mine is not! I believe the phrase rhymes with "Clucking Bell"

Hello....I'm new to all this! just thought I would drop in and say I love Discworld and all thngs related. I travel a bit with work and I love nothing more than a good read while doing so. I am re-visiting my Pratchet collection at the moment and realised today that of all the books I have read, the Discworld series is one that I love gong back to again and again and again! I am just reading the exploits of Miss Tiffany Aching at the moment in a Hatful of sky, does anybody else get a wee sad feeling when they near the end of a Discworld novel?... I know I do.... :)

Hi Transworld. Have you seen the comparative sales figures for apple and Android lately?

Please consider the Android version soonest!! Or a PC if you must. I really want to play with this and I cannot afford or justify an ipad.

Thank you.

Just copied this post from the Cunning one's forum, gripe time for the app.

Re: The Ankh-Morpork Map for iOS6 iPad ...

I've posted all the blind letters. One aspect that I find totally unfair is that to complete all the achievements you must post to Facebook from your ipad which means allowing the ipad to communicate with Facebook WHICH means downloading all your Facebook contacts automatically to your ipad. I don't want to do this nor should I HAVE to do this in order to complete the achievements. That is a crock I think. I paid for the app.

That hacks me off. A lot of people seem to think that we are ALL on Facebook.

Not true.

I find it very frustrating when someone wants me to read an interesting article, say, but it is only available via Facebook.

Well, I just bought the app (way too expensive, but what the ..., I thought) and I wished I had read this thread sooner....
It does not work with IOS 5 something. Aaaaaaargh.

Mmm, this is worse than a niggle, right? Gosh, I was really upset about that. I really do not want to spend all that money to buy a new iPad so I can finally use the app (but I'm tempted though). Nope, I'm gonna be strong. Bugger.

Btw: Totally agree Bouncy. This whole "Facebook connection" is really getting on my nerves. I do not have FB and do not want it. Not now, not ever.

Who's Wee Dug said:
I don't think you can update the software to a new level like that Dotsie, Apple like to rip you off so you have got to buy a new one.
Only iPad1 cannot be updated to iOS6 as far as I know - I have an iPad1 and it definitely cannot be upgraded :(

Jep, same here; iPad 1 and no possibility to update to IOS6. Apple are buggers (or burglars? or may be both  ).

I haven't tried to get a refund, Who's Wee Dug, but I can imagine I won't get any because it does say the app needs IOS 6...
I just didn't bother to read properly; my greed for anything Discworldly blinded me :naughty:
That's what we Dutchies call a 'learning moment' (or rather "leermomentje"). Mmm, I do wonder when these 'learning moments will finally hit home. It doesn't look to good, being 45 and still doing silly stuff like this... :confusion-scratchheadyellow:
