Discworld Convention 2012 Launched

Thanks for this, never been to a convention yet but planning on taking the tribe next year, just registered and will be getting my tickets shortly, hopefully will be able to meet up with other members from here.

How many people have been to one and what sort of things can one expect at a convention?

If you have a look at http://www.dwcon.org/pages/38038/what-c ... convention there's a bit of a guide at what can happen, and there's a copy of the programme book from last time at http://www.dwcon.org/media/uploads/file ... e_book.pdf put together by yours truly

I'm sure everyone will be along with their personal experience soon enough though, I'm a bit biased being on the committee but I think it's the best time you can have with your clothes on (and seeing some costumes it's a fine line).

It wasn't me that was the Low King it was a lady called Jenny - she of the evil Thursday Night Quiz!

I'm the one that was normally in Ops with Mandy or at the bar (not that that narrows me down on the committee!).

I'm getting excited about the convention too and I know what's happening.. well theoretically anyway!

This time my parents have signed up already, I made them come last time even though my dad had never read a Pratchett in his life and he had such a good time they signed up as soon as booking was open - just got to persuade my bf's parents to sign up and it'll avoid them having to meet for the first time in a serious situation!
