With regard to Fry - he's apparently said that he couldn't be friends with someone who likes Pratchett books.

Tit.
Now that's just rude (Fry, I mean) it's like saying 'I'm not being your friend cos you're her friend' I hate it when people do that

Email back from Eelco (the mad Monk of Cool  )

Discworld QI, what a brilliant idea. I can think of two options: One with (some of) the guests, or a broader one where people can be a panel member themselves. In the first case it would be great if we have someone who can actually present it, and a team to prepare questions and award points. I actually read up on QI on wikipedia about the scoring system :)

I'll put it on the list and discuss it with the committee (especially the guests bit).

You do of course know that I'll ask you if you know people who can run it :)

Regards, Eelco

Now look what we've gone and done! :p

O.O. According to Fry, he hasn't read any of them. So....I dunno what that's about.

He's the 'voice' of the Harry Potter audiobooks. Maybe that's got something to do with it. ;)

 Sounds like a touch of the green-eyed monster to me.
Well, in an article I read, he says he will get around to reading some, maybe he'll convert.

Sounds to me that it is something he said in jest and was taken seriously instead (or out of context). I find it difficult to believe he would intentionally slate something in such a childish manner and mean it, especially if he hadn't read it first.

I remember someone teasing Fry once about not knowing the HP story, he replied that he just read them, he didn't actually take any of it in. So not a fan then ;)

Interesting that the episode of QI with him and Daniel Radcliffe in, neither of them knew the rules of Quidditch

 It's like Galaxy Quest - the fans know more than the actors.

And maybe Fry isn't a fan of HP, but perhaps he likes JK.
