A thought I had yesterday as I had a scare over the dress I want to get for Rotterdam (method of payment not the actual price as I have a boring prob with PayPal atm and it won't take the payment any other way) and with people having to watch the pennies

Would anyone be willing to share rooms at Birmingham to get some saving in that way? I know it's slightly dodgy but having met Dotsie and talking to Meer so much I would be happy to room-share with either lady so we can split the cost and I promise not to corrupt younger forum ladies too much if there's people up for thart?

Not certain but I think the hotel do family suites too so we could maybe get 3 or four in on the deal o_O:
That's actually fairly common for other cons. I know the Harry Potter cons always have a forum on their websites where people can search for roomies. It's usually a younger demographic than the DW cons so everyone is more broke?/has less conception of private space? I don't know

I just checked flight prices, and it's going to be at least 1450 SGD/715 GBP to get me to London. Eeep. There goes some money from the travel fund (Bye bye Tibet?).

I have no conception of private space  I've already booked my room, it was only a tenner more anyway and I can cancel it up to 48 hours before so no risk that I can see. If money is an issue for anyone (it's along time in the future for me, I have no idea - I might not even be in the country), I can go sharesies no problem. Not sharing with pooh though. Just so we all know.

Tibet will be there for a long time yet ;) DWCon doesn't come round that often.

I don't have a particularly strong grasp of personal space either  It's a part of my personality that gives my sister much grief.

I was thinking I should make the flight count a bit...I've only ever been to London (I was travelling in France), and I've always wanted to see the pretty villages of the Cotswolds.

Yeah and Tibet has got all those pointy things... mountains.... You will never get up them p**sed. Thing is... if you are p**sed at the con, SOMEONE will help carry you up the stairs to your room.... they won't carry you up a mountain in Tibet.... never!

And Tibet also has those...whatcha call 'ems?...Animals? To ride on?

But the offering of drunken assistance to my room is much appreciated. After spending so much to get there, I fully intend to be blissfully inebriated every night.

Well they are really close to the convention. About 60km and you are well into the Cotswolds

And if Sheg DOESN'T turn out to be an axe murderer you all could volunteer to put her up for a night here and there so she can see alot of places.

Aren't I a good one to volunteer your services from the other side of the world

Thought never crossed my mind Dotsie

OK - I've just registered for single occupancy of a twin-bedded room which can be amended to double occupancy, from the Friday, up to and including the Monday night (4 nights in other words and check out on the Tuesday). PM me if you want to share ;)

I have to warn people that I do snore when I have a skinful so a non-drinker may find sharing hazardous... I also use a walking stick and have respiratory probs so I've also asked for a room close to the convention event areas as last time I was about as far away as it was possible to be from where all the action was (and the bar)

So basically... if YOU snore and wake HER up she can reach over in the middle of the night and whap you across the knees with her walking stick without even having to get out of the covers!
