I am currently working on building up what could possibly be the most in depth Discworld Directory ever. I plan on cataloging ever book and merchandise that has been sold under the Discworld banner.

STAGE ONE
Stage one is to give each of the 39 Discworld Novels, their own details page, I have spent the past few weeks in my spare time doing the first one. This is where you guys now come in as before I continue and use the first one as the template to base the rest on I need to know what people think, your likes and dislikes.

So please can you give me feedback on what you think of The Colour of Magic page: http://bricksandbooks.co.uk/discworld-d ... -of-magic/

Some pointers:
  • Graphic novels and omnibus editions will be catalogued separately
  • As all my research has been via the internet, if I have made any errors or you have more details help is most welcome to correct these.
  • Any questions please ask

Once I have gathered feedback I will move on to the 2nd novel etc. Once stage one is done Stage 2 will be other publications under the Discworld name but that won't be till early 2012. If anyone is wanting to help then please get in touch. :)

That looks good, when I clicked on the UK one 2nd edition maybe you could add 1st one with the the Josh Kirby artwork in the bubble or is that going to be added later.

You mean the images at the bottom?? I was not sure how to name them all so for now just put a generic title on them. I plan on when I have all the images, putting the isbn code in or something, what would you prefer?

It's ok I am going to probably re-do the images at the bottom as it's the only part I'm not happy with. So do people thing it is something they will use?

I think having the images of all the editions on the bottom is a good idea, it lets you see the order they came out in, also a few people may not know what the UU versions look like. :)
Thanks for the imput, speaking of the UU I have been chasing BCA about the rest of the collection but with no luck. With regards to the images at the moment the non-english language ones are just in country order as until either I own a copy or someone who knows tells me, I'm not sure which images matches with ISBN, I plan on finding out soon though.

I got to thank Colin Symthe, who got in touch and shared with me a lot of very useful information with regards to novels etc. I am not updating the Colour of Magic page with the extra notes he has shared with me.

Also I have updated how you can view the covers, instead of them being a the bottom of the page and too small for you to see, on the versions list there is now a picture icon, if you click that it will pop up a large size version of that versions book cover. Would like to know what you think?

I still have to do the US and Other versions this way but just do the UK ones this morning.

If anyone has an image of either the ISIS large print books or the trail Chris Brown cover then please let me know, thanks

I find that when I left click on a cover it puts up on the top LH corner of the screen a picture roughly the same size of the one opposite, to get the full size I have to right click and choose open link or open in a new window but its not a problem.

I had a few choices:

Open in the same window
Open in a new window or tab
Open in a pop up

I went for the last option but it is a piece of javascript but will tweak it so the image is full size, does that sound better?

The easier it for users the better so thanks for the imput :)
