NOT The land of the risen Son!!
I'm going off on a tangent again.

a. In my library, which is in a small town (pop.60,000) in Japan, there are 11 Terry Pratchett books in Japanese!

Truckers
Diggers
Wings
Wee Free Men
Hatful of Sky
Wintersmith
Wyrd Sisters
Reaperman
Maurice
Good Omens
Colour of Magic

b. There is a 3-day music festival in Makuhari every year called Summer Sonic. This year, one of my fave bands will be headlining. It's 45 minutes and 4 quid away by train.

Here's my fave song by them which I'd like to dedicate to Rick Santorum; :ugeek:

"A fire burns today of blasphemy and genocide.
The sirens of decay will infiltrate the faith fanatics."

NOT The land of the risen Son!!
Tangent time. :p

At the last DWCon, in the auction was a UK proof of Making Money. It's one of the proofs I didn't have, so I tried to win it in the bidding. When the price got to 280 quid, I pulled out. :(

This was the only time I'd ever seen it and it's never been on ebay or Abe books.

Abe books and ebay both send me email if any TP proofs come up for sale. Two weeks ago, I got an email from Abe about a Making Money UK proof. I bought it and have just received it today - price 90 quid!

Only got 5 to go now for the complete set.

PIP'S BABY RUMPUS!!

Pip's Baby only gained one vote in the qualifying round. That vote was NOT from the writer him/herself, but from Batty. Pip's Baby was going to face a Bronze medal match with Modern Romance - a story written by Batty!

However, without Batty's vote in the qualifying round, Pip's Baby wouldn't have made it to the semi-finals.

The writer wishes to thank everyone who voted for Pip's Baby, but feels the only decent course of action to take is to withdraw Pip's Baby from the competition, allowing Modern Romance to have a walk-over.

So the Bronze medal and Drabble Double Century book is hereby awarded to Batty.

It will be suitably defaced, then sent to Batty as soon as she sends me a pm.
