Thanks for that. As it happens, I think I found the active one while trawling. God, there's so much stuff here! Thanks all the same and I'll check out the locked one too. Any other suggestions for good threads to start on (So far there's Terry Pratchett\How Did You Discover Discworld/Terry Pratchett; Terry Pratchett\Terry Quotes; Terry Pratchett\How Can I Thank You, Sir Terry; The Broken Drum\Welcome and Introduce Yourself 3; and Non-Discworld books\Apart From Terry, Who Do You Consider the Best Writers. At least those are the ones I've posted to) would be gratefully appreciated (at this rate I'm going to be spending half my online life here ;)).

Your plan worked!!!!!

Well, there's plenty worse things to get hooked on. No, honestly, I'm having a great time here. The only thing is I'm on one of these stupid dongle things (never again), so my measly 3GB per month may run out. Then I'll have to go cold turkey. I hate clucking, Gods help me, what have I let myself in for? I'd better check my allowance and if I'm overdoing it I'll have to wean myself off (not completely, of course, just a manageable dose - maybe on an alternative days schedule for starters?).
I never thought going to work could be a blessing in disguise ;).

How I got into T P novels

...I'm new here too and not sure if I'm doing this right, but...

Many years ago now a young man, (as he was then), asked me to marry him largely because I reminded him of 'Anathema Device' and felt that I probably did ride a broom stick when no one was looking.

I was 18 or 19, so I said no.

But I was intrigued by the many ideas this young man told me of, which he had gleaned all, from Terry Pratchett novels.

I shall always be grateful to him for putting me onto these books, and for being the first man to ever actually ask me to marry him.
