I had a friend who was heavily into Discworld, although at the time i had only heard of it.

She lent me a copy of Lords and Ladies, and I giggled my way through it (I love Herne the Hunted!) and was hooked!

Cheers, Vena

When my granddaughter Jess was two, she was taken into hospital very poorly. Mum and Dad went with her and I was left to look after the baby. Once I'd got her to sleep, I was desperate to read something to take my mind off the worry. On Mary's bookshelf I found Wyrd Sisters.
Happy endings all round. Jess made a complete recovery and I was permanently hooked. I wrote to Terry to thank him for getting me through this difficult time and he wrote the most delightful letter back. What a man

Mid 90s, running a small store in Torquay, almost an hour on the train each way from Exeter, bored mindless by the journey, and looking for something to read that wasn't graffiti. A speedy trip into WH Smiths, and I came out with Mort. Sniggered so much all the way home that people began to move away from me in the train carriage, and have been hooked ever since. It would be hard to name my favourite book, as it changes with each read, but in the main it's probably Hogfather. Or Nation. Or Lords and Ladies. Or Men at Arms...
Our local library here in NB has all Pratchett fiction filed in the Teen Fiction area. Not sure what to make of that..

I was eight years old and in a video game store in 1997. I didn’t have a clue what game I wanted so I judged the games by their cover. Maybe it was fate or just my good luck but I was intrigued by a game that had a picture of a turtle chasing a wizard in space. I took a risk and asked my dad to buy the game. 13 years and 27 novels later I’m still counting my lucky stars that I made that decision.

i started with Good Omens about 20yrs ago which i still have and is about ready to glued/nailed/ sellotaped back together again.

Next book in the local book store was Eric but I didn't let it put me off and have been a fan ever since.

My poor hubby has to put up with giggling in bed, spontaneous outburst of "listen to this bit..its so funny"....and mountains of books, maps, pins and posters in the house.
