Can't wait. Hope it lives up to the hype. I won't be seeing it tomorrow. (Apparently we get it first... sun going around the earth and stuff).

So anyone who sees it... give us a review WITHOUT GIVING SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know.. the book is out there but I haven't read it either.

Did we already have a thread about this.... couldnt find one.

Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which "Tributes" must fight with one another until one survivor remains. Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she's ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love. THE HUNGER GAMES is directed by Gary Ross, and produced by Nina Jacobson's Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. Suzanne Collins' best-selling novel, the first in a trilogy published by Scholastic that has over 16 million copies in print in the United States alone, has developed a massive global following.
A take on Reality TV.

More like Battle Royale, the junior version still want to see it though .
Definitely screams Battle Royale Ripoff and without an actor of Takeshi Kitano's quality it'll feel watered down.

Now now! No judgements til you see it. I dont like movies that are "hyped".... but apparently from what I have heard this one lives up to it.

Well, to say it was hyped is to *slightly* understate it.

I (literally) just watched it, and I've got completely Mixed Feelings about it. Lots of bits were changed, some were added and some ignored, but overall it Was a good movie. Just, it was missing some of my favourite bits.

The only other thing I have against it is that there was no sense of time (but I got this with HP 7 p2). So overall it was a good Adaptation of the film, but I tend to get annoyed over finicky points (as I tend to adore books and read them too often before I see the movie).

It's very popular over here too... didn't read the books, but I really liked my cousin's comment on them: "I went to the bookstore but when I say how thin they were I decided it wasn't worth reading them" - so typical
They're not very thin they have about 400+ pages for each book.

Nobody ever listens to me: "See the movie first!!" ..unless you read the book years ago; then you don't have much choice. But I hear people all the time whining (present co. excluded) about how the movie is different, or missing stuff; blah blah..
It looks interesting to me, so I might see it.

I heard that the basic premise is that 13 year olds must partake in these games in order for their village/tribe to eat?
