One of my Christmas presents turned out to be a letter from a woman who writes for video games. She gave me tips since I'm embarking on a similar career path. The letter itself meant a lot to me, but what was even more amazing and unbelievable...

That woman just so happened to be Rhianna Pratchett.

My relative who contacted her didn't know this at first, and wasn't sure if he should mention that I'm a huge fan of her father's books since people often want to take advantage of the fact that she's related to such a famous author. But there you have it. I guess wring really is "in the blood" for the Pratchett family. :)

That's wonderful SpyViolet.

Its also really nice as well to hear about someone else who is willing to put themselves out by taking the time and effort, during what is probably their busy schedule, to write and help a newbie to the business.

Aw that's lovely SpyViolet

My lad loves writing, drawing and making up games too. Everytime I teach him a new game, he goes off and either tries to expand on it or creates one for himself. His Snakes & Ladders games are just evil ;) May have to come to you in a few years time for some tips for him

Hi SpyViolette,

Glad to see you got my letter :) I hope that amongst my ramblings there were a few useful nuggets. I must admit that writing about being a writer was quite an interesting exercise. You never know quite how much you know until you start telling someone about it. I hope you and the rest of the forum had a great Hogswatch.

Warmest wishes for 2012.

Rhianna
