I have been trying to find out about this edition, and why it is so expensive to buy. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find out anything. I have seen more TCoM 1sts for sale than this book. Does anyone out there know the reason?

On checking mine it was the first one with the small thumbnail picture on the spline dust jacket and a type of letterbox cover as the next four were letterbox style, but that is just a guess.

This is not the first letterbox version, the ones before and after it are available in letterbox too, what is odd, is that the 2 most expensive/rare ones are both from 1994, soul music and interesting times. cheapest i can find soul music is £64 used, and interesting times is not to be found online as yet.

I like to try and get hardback copies, but I really don't think I'd pay those sort of prices.

2,100 Pounds?? I love Pterry's books, but I wouldn't pay that for any book, written by anyone.

Its insane. And not even for a first edition but a book club edition . Not worth it.

I sometimes wonder if people put these things on there at astronomical prices as a sort of place minder until they can actually get one in stock. It makes no sense, but clearly no one would pay that much.
