Nobody ever expects the Spanish Inquisition (Python 1991)

That's because their two weapons are surprise, fear & ruthless efficiency. three weapons! Suprise, fear, ruthless efficiency and a fanatical devotion to the pope. Four weapons! Amongst their weaponry...

After digging this old thread up I remembered another one. People with binoculars or telescopes can not only see things much clearer, but they can also hear them too.

Oh and time travellers always seem to arrive on the day that something of historic importance is about to happen.
On a related note...

The Doctor: You know, since we're talking with mouths, not really an opportunity that comes along very often, I just wanna say, you know, you [the TARDIS] have never been very reliable!

Idris (aka the TARDIS): And you have?!

The Doctor: You didn't always take me where I wanted to go!

Idris: No, but I always took you where you needed to go.

No one pays for the cab.
The NAZI,s never win.
However, when people do pay for the cab they always extract the correct amount of money from their pocket.
People always hold up a lantern in front of their face when they want to see ahead of themselves. At the same time the whole area gets brighter.

Any drunk in a movie or TV show, will always turn the bottle or hip flask upside down when it's empty. This is also the case with a water bottle or canteen when someone is lost in the desert. In this case they usually angrily throw the empty container away. This means that if they did happen to come across a source of water, they'd have nothing to put it in. :naughty:

Ever notice that two characters will travel three hours to meet at a bar or restaurant for a meeting, and then that meeting will last five minutes and they'll be on their way?

Oh, that one really does annoy me.

In the dark and distant days when I used to watch EastEnders, any new character seemed to have everybody's mobile number within a day.

What a nice thread, and I love bad movies, too.

So "let's go"...

By the end of the movie the girl actually prefers the nice guy over the psycho
Yeah, but for the record: The girl always begins with the psycho, the most stupid, most egoistic, most nasty guy you can imagine, the guy you wonder how he even could get a/the girl in the first place at all (and, the more evil thought, which image of women the directors may have ).

The cell phones already are mentioned, also the very very bad coverage in movie land, but somebody already mentioned that modern people apparantly very very seldom have got a cell phone at all? Usually among a groupe of half a dozen teenies there is only one around (and this doesn't function).

In teenie slashers and horror movies the black guy always dies, also the gays.

Until now I have only seen one movie in which the black girl survives (she even has got a white boyfriend, also very rare in movie land), also (both!) lesbians. Okay, the drunkard/junkie get killed, but everybody have a cell phone and this cell phones even worked, AND the girl has got the brainpower NOT to cry at phone "Help, help, we are chased by monsters!", instead she mentions a hijacking.
Hadn't it been for the really really stupid looking monster effects you nothing would have had to shake your head about.
