I can't believe this was made in 2009 and I have never seen it before. It was on SBS tonight.

Setting China in 1937 German John Rabe has been ordered by the Nazi's to close down a Siemens plant in Nanking. The Japanese Army is bearing down upon Nanking in a massive attack determined to wipe it off the map. Rabe decides to stay and under the immediate guise of the Nazi flag (Japan and Germany were allies) he sets up a safe zone for thousands of Chinese.
Its mostly subtitled but that barely registers.
