Just finished "Small Gods". The way the spheric earth model is depcited in it is just along the lines of the story I had in mind. I will introduce a prophet who claims the discworld is actually spheric, but unlike the Omnians who did not really believe in that the people who listen to him WILL believe, which leads to a wobbly reality. So finally there seems to be only one solution: He has to be assassinated. But it turns out that a prophet who is protected by his God is not easy to assassinate...
Just finished I Shall Wear Midnight. Excellent. Nice to see Angua has been made Captain. I liked the love interest. So sweet, our Preston, and a hero too!! And So nice to see the witches together and not squabbling!
The piece of resistance was Boffo's shop keeper's mum being a witch of the warty sort! Excellent.
Almost forgot I had it. It was still in the bag on the book shelf! Duh!

Prior to that it was all the Tiffany books, something very uplifting and spiritual about them I think, I must confess some parts of Hatfull of sky sky left me a bit, um, emotional.

Just finished Maskerade.
I have to say, this has entered my Top 5 Discworld books I think and is definitely the sharpest 'witches' book I've read so far. Everything works; Granny and Nanny are great (particularly in their 'roles'), Agnes Nitt is a really likeable new character, Walter Plinge, Henry Slug, Salzella and their alter egos are great fun, you've got some of the Watch in there, the Librarian makes an appearance...it just all works.
It's a fusion of everything - kind of like Wagnerian Opera I guess. With the number of characters in this book from different story arcs and the witches in unfamiliar territory I suppose there was a danger this could have just become a collage, but it's a good, tight story.
