Hmm. That makes two on the west coast in a row - Seattle (north, in Washington state) in 2025 and L.A. (south, in California) in 2026.
Seattle is an interesting city. Sir Pterry took the buried streets tour (Seattle is built on Seattle), but I think it may have been shut down since then. I believe the big fish market is still there.

L.A. is hot and sprawling. I recall last time I was there, the buildings were huge. We had to walk miles between locations. I wonder if they would allow a scooter to be used by someone not handicapped. The hallways are big enough, you could theoretically use a bicycle.

Pike market is an interesting place, Terry said it has the best Chouder in the States, I tried it thought it had the edge over San Francisco one.
I have been told by some American friends that they put on a really good Con in Anaheim Con centre, so that one is bookmarked. I don't think I will be at Seattle next year although I did enjoy my time there en-route to Spokane Worldcon. American Worldcons normally have the best dealer rooms IMO. Montreal has put in a bid for 2027 opposing Tel Aviv, I won't go back to Montreal good enough Con really rude and unfriendly people and Austin Texas bid for 2031in the pipeline, I had a great time at the last Loncon3 one in San Antonio.

Alas, I have never been to L.A. =( I know the L.A. that Raymond Chandler describes in his novels, but obviously it's not the same L.A. now - different fashions, different music, different technology etc.

Is there anything that hasn't changed in L.A. since that time? (Please bear in mind that his novels are set in the 40s and 50s, so AFAIK, the only thing that's still there is the big Hollywood sign). ;)

OTOH, I'm sure there are two other things that are still there: overfed Hollywood producers and far-too-hopeful Hollywood starlets. As for the rest, e.g. gumshoes pounding the pavement, corrupt and violent cops, or more or less honest DAs -- I'm sure you'd know better than me! :) Any ideas?
