I completely agree - I thought Terry had lost his mind when I first read it, but it's one of my favourites now. Terry did a huge amount of research on the subject. The radio show that Sjoerd posted has him discussing MR.

I think Monstrous Regiment is one of the best recent books. Doesn't compare to the classics perhaps, but I'd take it over the Moist books, Unseen Academicals or the recent Vimes offerings any day. :laugh:

Enjoyed Monstrous Regiment but it doesn't compare to Night Watch at all.
I'll agree that Thud isn't everyones cup of tea but Night Watch is Pratchett at his best.

I respectfully disagree. I just didn't care for Night Watch at all. o_O

I cared for a small number of pages in Nightwatch: the ones with the wizards
