I have been looking at photo's of the next episode & came across this one...

Gorgeous, gorgeous grey horse, 8) (I want him!) but I can't help thinking that a servant would not have had such a proud steed, nor would Gwen be riding astride. It was a deffinate 'nono' in those days for women to ride astride, they had to ride side saddle, even in fairly recent times, due to them having to be virginal.

To put the record straight, apparently ladies in medieval times did ride astride, the side saddle wasn't invented until the 16th century  They obviously weren't too bothered about ladies virtues before that time then.
I still don't think she would have had such a well bred horse though.
And she shouldn't have him, he should be mine! Envious me! Course not!

I have been disappointed with the episodes of late. It seems like every week is the same thing. The kingdom a accosted by magic and Uther is too dumb to wake up to the fact that, you need magic, to fight magic.

I think he'll get past that hang-up now - Part 2 of the season finale sews up a whole load of loose ends...

It's the same with any serial though fantasy or otherwise - there's only so many situations to explore - like the last Robin Hood *spits at memory* always having to find an excuse to go into Nottingham  or the A Team always getting locked up with power tools at their disposal   etc etc

Actually what I did like about this series was how they managed to weave a lot the major canon for the Arthurian legends (aside from the obvious palsy walsy same age Merlin & Arthur) back into loose sync without involving christianity in any way
Also Emilia Fox as Morgause - she even managed to make Katie McGrath look good and do something more than the eye candy thing
