I'm not so sure I would call the Disney/Pixar films classics. They're enjoyable and the animation is good, but I don't think they're keepers. I mean, toy gets jealous of another toy, toys make friends, the end. Not exactly Citizen Kane, is it?

Well personally i think Citizen Kane is overated . Its good but its not as great as some critics like to have us think.
And any story can be stripped down to its bare bones to make it sound simplistic (Clerks 2 Lord of the Rings rant is a great example of this)

I agree, Toy Story's bare bones in the hands of Dreamworks would lead to a non-classic... ;)

But then what about The Corpse Bride? That's a lot of bones! Good film too!
Actually, don't many of them still have bits of flesh on them, like the titular Corpse Bride? Only Tim Burton could make a film about necrophilia into a classic. :)
