Sorry DaveC, but when it comes to speaking foreign languages I am ashamed to admit that I am very much in the stereotypical English persons mold. I can manage to speak V-E-R-Y.....S-L-O-W-L-Y.....A-N-D.....L-O-U-D-L-Y, but that's about all. I did try but have little ability for learning language. I even lived in South Africa for 7½ years. I could, at the end, speak a smattering of Afrikaans, although I found I could understand most conversations. I also spent most of my school life trying to learn French (compulsory subject) without any discernible fluency.
Quirmian's mostly rendered into Italian, I think. However, Genuan became mostly English, so Lilith de Tempscire was reverse-translated into Lilith Weatherwax
(And you couldn't swap hardback covers. All French editions are paperbacks, sorry ^^)
