Ooooh I really like that! I think you've caught Tiffany's age in this book just right. It's too easy to forget that she is still very young in this one. Excellent!

Artistically, it's beautiful, but it does make Tiffany look like a rather sulking brat, rather than a witch who is wise beyond her years. I also think the feegles are proportionally far too large and look far too much like monsters rather than simply small men with attitude. If I didn't know anything about the series and saw the book on a bookshelf, I'd be thinking that evil blue mini orcs are holding a scared little girl hostage.

Thanks :)

raisindot: Tiffany is being possessed in this book, and the nac mac feegle aren't just small men with attitude, just have a look at carpe jugulum to be sure of that. They're far more dangerous than mini orcs ;)

I think Tiffany has the cool look of a gunslinger in the picture and the Feegles look like they are ready to defend her rather than kidnap her. Apart from Tiffany, just about everyone who knows about the Feegles, fear them. And rightly so. They are not nice.

   Magritte meets Moriconi! :p

Brooding suits young teens so well and the Feegles do need to be as 'edgy' as poss - they do have a fair bit in common with classic berserker orcs certainly which helps nail the wee blue warrior legendarium. I like what you've done with the little horse symbology as well - more Lascaux Caves than Uffington Chalk, which puts it all in the realms of the primeval as Terry wrote it with his fossil earth descriptions ... ;)

Really like Tiffany's freckles as well

Just seen the new Song of Ice and Fire Calender. Busy year for Kemar from the looks of it. Now my Pratchett and Martin calenards match
