Just registered but got confused as it asked for Mr. Pratchett's first name and didn't accept Pterry....

I have Snuff from the library and haven't finished it, I just don't get the time to read now I'm married again and I cant renew it as other people want it. :( why, oh why, is he so popular?

I was surprised to find how reasonably priced it is in the iBooks store which got me wondering why they don't rent books like they do films?

Pterry has been entertaining me for many years, should I have laughed out loud when I was in the hospital while my daughter was dying? I don't think anything but Pterry could have made me do so, without him I think I would have lost it.

I have only met him once at a book signing - what a pleasure.

If he is losing his marbles it is hard for most of us to notice as he had so many more than most of us to start with. It must be awful for him and his family -I wish him all the best and would just like to say Thank You for all he has done and I hope he can continue to bring us joy for a long time to come, but if he can't, I hope he can enjoy life to the fullest.

WELCOME CONFUSCIUS!

Just married huh? Well congratulations to you and Mrs Confuscius! How long?

Poor you... how are you going to explain away the hours spent on this thread... its highly addictive. Better get her to join too then ;) TELL us you DID marry a DW fan!

Sorry to hear about your daughter. Don't be worried about laughing out loud during that time. As Meerkat said... he has brought some sanity into our insane lives many times. Safe port in a storm thing.

If he is losing his marbles it is hard for most of us to notice as he had so many more than most of us to start with.
What a wonderful way to put it... and SO true.

Now we fully understand you have "martimonial duties" to attend to... but do pop in when you can and say hello.

Welcome to the forum.
Discworld books help with the marriage too after a few years. A bit of life in the dull moments

Confucious is a deliberate miss-spelling. I mistakenly thought no one else would do that so I could use the name everywhere...

I've been married to the most perfect woman in the world for over 2 years now - only just surfaced ;) She is not a PTerry fan so isn't going to come to see Wyrd sisters on Wednesday - I think this will be the 4th evening we have spent apart in the past 4 years, not much can tear us apart!

It was a long time ago my daughter died - I have a daughter and son from my first marriage since then - wouldn't want you to think I don't enjoy life!

I'm a member of quite a few specialist forums - very few get such a warm welcome for newcomers - Thank you all :)
