I'm 27 and finally catching on to the Discworld :)

So far I've read Sorcery, Mort and Pyramids.

Pyramids was the best of those three with Mort not close behind. Didn't quite enjoy Sorcery as much, not sure why though.

Tonight I start Wyrd Sisters, and will then read the rest in order. Is this a good idea?

Welcome SwordfishTrombone. :)
Reading them in order is not necessary story wise. Most books can be read on their own, but I prefer to read them in their order to see how the characters change as people and the background of the things they have been though up till that point.

WELCOME Swordfish Trombone,
Regarding Sourcery, I think Terry might have been warming up for the Discworld as we read it today. The books get better (except for Monstrous Regiment which is one of my not-favourites!) but at least Rincewind was in it!

Welcome.

You'll love all the books on the Watch and I find it's easier to understand and enjoy reading those ones in order as certain characters change.

Don't forget to read Small Gods tho - best book out there IMHO

New reader

Hi, I hate admitting this on The Forum but I have never read any of Terry's books BUT am about to buy my 1st one! Should I read them in order or is one particularly good for a new reader?
I mostly read thrillers and historical and have just finished Fall of Giants by Ken Follett which I enjoyed very much. Thanks

Hi deric, The Colour of Magic the is 1st Discworld one and is a bit different from the rest as it was a parody of the Fantasy swords & socerery genre from the 70's, 80's ,so if you have not read anything in that line you won't get the Jokes and puns.
After you read one come back and start the list in order as The Light Fantastic the 2nd is linked with C.O.M which shows how the Luggage came to be. :)
