A bit of a glut of deaths today 
Ian Paisley is of course receiving all the attention on the news here but also along with Sir Donald Sinden, John Bardon has died, a British character actor who appeared in numerous TV programmes from Dads Army to Eastenders.
A sad day, no matter what anyone may have thought of Paisley he was a major political figure through my entire lifetime and without him I doubt the peace settlement would actually have happened as he was willing to go against his own party to sign up to the agreement.
RIP all three

Just read about Ian Paisley and hope, most sincerely, that he also rests in peace. As Mad says, Rev Paisley was a force to be reckoned with and a major influence on the NI peace settlement. I have many Irish friends and they are all saying something similar, 'I may not have agreed with his views but he did a lot of good for his constituency and Northern Ireland'.
He also had the distinction of being one of the loudest politicians of all time. RIP.
