That's appalling! There's no excuse for any of that. I would tend to put the blame on whoever is supervising as this sort of thing only happens if those in charge turn a blind eye.

I've seen it (although not as bad) in psychiatric units and it's always if the ward manager is too soft or doesn't care.

I posted on another thread before I saw this one (now deleted). I could only watch about half an hour of the program and had to turn over before I put my boot through the telly in disgust. I sincerely hope that those involved face criminal charges for assault or whatever else they can be done for. A spell in prison where they could be on the receiving end from their fellow inmates would lend an air of poetic justice to the whole affair!

Something else that's disgusting
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8NjiUN6 ... re=related

Disgusting yeah, I don't know how people can behave in such a way towards other human beings. This is a video that made me sick because it involves little baby at a nursery. In the video above you see a piece of tvNews where one of the teachers (3 women teachers were involved and filmed) hits repeatedly a young child. In the video below you see the same teachers forcing a baby to eat, pulling her hair, hitting her head, twisting her arm. I couldn't believe it. Little defenceless children??
What kind of world is this?

I know the videos are in italian because it happened here, but the images say it all.

The male child approching in the second video moved me, he holds her hand trying to console her, as if meaning 'stop crying so she won't hit you anymore'

People can be truly horrible. Those videos are shocking, crys. :(

I was once on a message board for animal lovers and a group of us got together after someone posted a video on YouTube of themselves deliberately hitting a cat and making it squeal with pain. this was a young teenage boy who seemed to think the whole thing was very funny.

We did a bit of detective work and managed to find out who this kid was, where he lived and who his parents (and grandparents) were. It turned out that his father was something of a legendary blues guitarist (American), his mother was quite a famous women's rights campaigner and his grandparents were really rather famous actors and social activists.

We managed to get this video brought to the attention of his parents who, understandably, acted on it.

This was the tip of the iceberg as far as animal abuse was concerned. And this was mostly lids posting videos of them torturing the family pet. If this is the way kids treat animals, then it's hardly surprising that they might grow up and treat vulnerable people in such a manner. :(

if they do go down and i think they will, they are going to be put in the sex offenders wing as the gen population would kill them wwd, a damned shame really, i would mix up their segregation orders and accidentally put them in general population until they get battered

Following BBC One Panorama investigation into the shocking abuse of vulnerable adults in care, I have just signed the National Autistic Society's petition to make sure that the Government takes urgent action to prevent this happening again.

Done it Joolz. I have a cousin who is severely autistic and I'm glad to say he lives in what appears to be a good residential home where they receive excellent care, including trips to local restaurants for dinner, etc. (One local cafe actually barred a couple who complained about their noisy behaviour).

I just hope that the genuine carers and decent homes don't get tarred with the same brush by the media outrage. They do a very demanding job, often under very difficult circumstances.
