Python was what made me an total Anglophile and complete acolyte of everything Goodies, Perrin, Fawlty, Yes, Minister, Red Dwarf, Cook/Moore, and all those other seminal, smart British comedies that featured something other than music hall hacks running around after half-dressed women.
I remember, at age 12, watching the first episodes of Python that were broadcast on public TV in the U.S. Had no idea of what it was about.
I remember seeing "The Dull Life of a City Stockbroker" for the first time, and seeing--you know,
that one scene. Blew my frickin' mind.
