Ok, some extra news on this one, Bernard Pearson, he of the Discworld stamps, is doing a tie in with the Royal Mail issue and this is also being linked through publicty from the stamp dealer Stanley Gibbons. I don't know exactly what is going on but I was with Bernard last week whilst he was trying to sort this out with Gibbons.

Further to Mads Post the following link shows Bernards special edition link with the stamps.

Look really good and only 200 sets are available.
Got my Royal Mail ones this morning in the post , ordered the first day cover and the stamps with book so i have two versions and will probably order the special edition from the discworld emporium when they are available in two days.

why no Tolkien stamps?
Thought that as well at first but the set here works and Tolkien has been done before.
Presentaion pack from the royal mail is very cool with a large picture of merlin with the stamps presented at the bottom.
First day issue envelope is quite cool as well but i prefer the look of the Bernard Pearson one which is made of Parchment.
