So, in "The Last Hero", when Cohen and the Silver Horde escape, Cohen yells: "Aren't we supposed to shout somethiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnggggg-----" (Yes, obviously a reference to people getting in their Famous Last Words).

I re-used that gag in one of my stories, but
when one of my characters plunges off a wall, he yells instead: "I'm not going to shout anythiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnggggg---"
:)

So my questions are:

1. In TLH, is this a reference to anything (other than Famous Last Words)?

2. Does my use of the idea violate some kind of copyright? I hope not.

3. Does it make sense?

Thanks! :)

In early and mid-20th century action stories - usually war stories - the thing they yell is "Geronimo!" I'm not sure why the name of a famous Native American was used as a battle cry. The history is probably online.
Anyway, I don't think it's plagiarism. More of an homage.
