For those new to Discworld there is a reading guide to help you tackle the series and can be found on L-Space and also by clicking here, on L-space there is also other language versions and it's creator Krzysztof Kietzman is always looking for people to translate it for him. I recently picked his brains about the guide and if you want to read about it click here, version 2.1 should be done next week.

What do people think of the guide? this is the latest version and most are only aware of the earlier purple version, here is a smaller version of it for you:

Hope not, Author! I read them in written order and they made more sense!

Good idea to try something like this though, RJH!
I agree they make a lot of sense when you read them in order.I started with Making Money but when i realized there was an order I started reading them in order

It's a useful and interesting thing to have reading guides. I know that it's a question we get asked here frequently: What order should I read the books in?

As someone who has followed the books from the start, I've never had reason to consult a guide, but I can imagine how daunting starting to read Discworld books so far in to the series must seem to new Pratchett readers.

Rich, I've linked this thread to the Useful Links (Forum and Discworld) thread on the Broken Drum. :)

I agree with Tony here, I also never saw any real need for a guide.
Except maybe for which novels to start with best. Though can that actually be put into guide form?

Is the map suggesting that you read The Science books first :eek: o_O
Not at all it is showing you a possible starting point, if you look on a larger one it groups certain sub themes such as guards into an easy to follow guide, plus I didn't do it just though people on here might find it useful, the key in the top corner should help you know how to follow the guide.

@Tony nice one thanks mate.

looks good. i think i saw something similar once (might have been on L space). my only suggestion would be on placement of the last line. that and the watch series are pretty linked together so it would help to show them in order based on release. still on its own line though. Moving Pictures between GG/MaA, going postal between Thud and.... snuff when its added. that kind of thing.
