I would love to read a new novel (whilst Sir Terry has time) about Twoflower and Rincewind. I have got all T.P.'s books as ist editions, both hard cover and as paperbacks, and as much as I love reading about Sam Vimes, a bloke I could really warm to if I met him in the streets of Ankh Morpork, I really, REALLY miss Rincewind, Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg etc. all the original characters. I appreciate Sir T.P's. situation, but a real ripsnorting book with just about everyone of the original characters involved would be a great novel to finish with!

I think that Rincewind has matured quite a bit. The Last Hero shows him relatively calm and assembled, imho.

That said, I wouldn't know if he would fit into the earlier books now - I tend to believe that Pterry's writing style has also changed quite a lot compared to the earliest books in which Rincewind was prominent.

So, Rincewind would have to change as well, I assume, and he already did so at least a bit for The Last Hero.

Although I've read UA, I don't remember him to be playing much of a (rememberable) role in the book.

But I miss Rincewind very much as well.
But not 4-Eyes.

return to older characters

i agree some of the older characters would be a welcome sight however there are so many who do you leave out and who do you include ?

i have all the Dworld novels (several times) and have just finished listening to them on audiobook. Stephen Briggs is a great narrator :laugh:
