No, no, no, we are not worthy enough for heaven, but we KNOW we are definitely going!!

CaptMeMe, I know what a meme is and remember Dotsie saying it was a word invented by Richard Dawkins.

As you yourself recently said, you don't read people's posts you only scan them, a fact which is quite clear from this thread with your comment to Tony.

May I suggest you read what people say first before going off on one of your pre-programmed replies. If you did read posts, particularly your own, you wouldn't contradict yourself so much.

But at least you've removed your offensive signature boasting about how proud you were of your God for killing 25,000 Japanese people, the main reason that caused me to go off on my God is a b*stard rant.

Good points.
...and speaking of pre-programmed replies, "Good points" is a phrase you've been taught to say to diffuse a tricky argument which you are losing.
No, it's my phrase to try to stop myself getting into more debates.

Anyway, I've lost. Now can we stop trying to debate?
Hang on, just because you don't want to debate doesn't mean that other people do.

If you find this thread uncomfortable, then don't read it. :)

This sheer arrogance of this quote from the good Capt, chills me to the bone.
Creationists are dangerous loonies and need to be stopped.

This quote states that ALL creationists are going to heaven.
This quote states that ALL creationists can bomb abortion clinics, because if they believe in Jesus, he will forgive them.
This quote states that ALL creationists can be happily married and shag the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders one by one, (or two by two as they believe in Noah  ) because if they believe in Jesus, he will forgive them.
This quote states that all creationists can go on a homophobic serial-killing spree, because if they believe in Jesus, he will forgive them.

Yes, it bloody well does! Creationists believe they have carte blanche to do whatever they like, to whoever they like, regardless of the pain they cause, because they are 100% guarenteed to get into heaven as Jesus will forgive ALL their sins.

It doesn't actually say that. But whilst I think this is a deliberately provocative statement, the types who are loony enough to bomb clinics probably don't think they need forgiving for it, therefore won't accept forgiveness, therefore won't go to heaven.

It's a pearly minefield

Don't you think that's true of all religious people? If they really believe in heaven, they can't possibly believe that atheists will get in, regardless of the life they've lead?

Anyway, atheists don't believe in Heaven or Hell, so they shouldn't worry about going there.

One of the advantages of being an atheist is that you don't have to worry about eternal torment. ;)

Not true Dots. My mum was very religious (quietly not the church type). My Dad was an absolute atheist. Mum was quietly confident that no matter what Dad said, she and he would end up in heaven together because her's was a forgiving god. and would forgive Dad for not believing   He had NO way of arguing with that.
