Yesterday (Monday 31st Jan) was the final day of the Freeview channel known as Channel One (formerly known as Virgin1).

At a sweep, I've lost about six or seven of my regular shows.

Thanks a bunch Mr Branson. Thanks a chuffing bunch.

Quest has been going a while now.

I think Murdoch bought Ch1 from Branson, then decided that the content was too similar to Living, so they've blitzed Ch1 and moved most of it's content to Living or other Sky channels.

I'm soooooo p****d off - that's about 60 per cent of my weekly shows down the Swanny.

Sell your TV and save on the licence, you can spend the money on more Pratchett items

They axed it? I was just watching it yesterday :( Where am I going to watch star trek now?!
Monday night was the last transmission of Channel One.

All the great shows they gave us are now flying in the wind of Mr Murdoch's Sky channels.

How is this allowed?

I can't say I've ever been a fan of Virgin 1. I was a Virgin customer when they had their little spat with Sky and dropped Sky 1 from their listings. They then replaced Sky 1 with Virgin 1 which was to my mind a pale imitator. So I never really watched it. Hadn't noticed it was go to be honest.

Geek Town:

I’d been passed a rumour of this news a few days ago, but I’ve been trying to get some sort of response myself from Sky to confirm it. Despite the wall of silence from the press office, their Twitter account and their Facebook, finally the Sky Living Help Forum stepped up and confirmed it…

Sky Living ‘have NOT acquired the rights for the final season of Chuck’.

It’s not very clear if there should be a yet on the end of that, and they do say ‘this is still under review’ but as of right now (Aug 2011), Chuck’s final season does not have a home on UK TV…

As it is ‘still under review’, i’m sure the nice folk at Sky Living would love to hear from you if you feel you’d like to see Chuck Season 5 in the UK.

Why not tell Sky Living your thoughts by contacting Sky Living on Twitter, or on Facebook, and letting them know if you would like to be able to view Chuck in his final outing on TV in the UK, preferably in a timely fashion (i.e. Oct/Nov this year), and not 9 months from now…

Can't even ask a mate to record it for me now.
