The memorial service went off very well and I was able to attend via a Skype link. It was fitting in a way as so much of our relationship was due to the internet. Lots of people attended and spoke about their memories of Charlene. Two local authors were there and spoke of how much help Charlene had given them when they first got published and were incredibly impressed at Charlene's knowledge. Her ashes were scattered in Sabino Canyon in the desert amongst her beloved saguaro cacti and desert plants. She may have been born in Kansas, but Tucson was forever her home.
