I think the series Sandman is impossible to film. If anything, the Marco Polo comic would be a very good Doctor Who episode.

The Doctor met Marco Polo back in the Sixties. They didn't get on very well, as Marco Polo seized the TARDIS to use to barter with Kublai Khan for freedom from the Khan's service. In fact, the Doctor got on better with Kublai Khan, as they both had rheumatism, and a love for backgammon.
