Some of you may remember how at a medieval fair I encountered an alchemist strongly resembling Terry Pratchett.I posted something about it here: http://www.terrypratchett.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2911,a few posts down there is a link to some youtube footage that features the man in question for a few seconds.
This was last year, now for this Christmas I received a copy of science of discworld 2:the globe.I was amazed to see a picture of this very alchemist alchemist on the cover ,same costume, same beard, it was uncanny. As I read it turned out that this man was queen Elizabeth I's alchemist John Dee.A quick google image search confirmed it,the alchemist was portraying this John Dee guy, those who have read the book will know he is a major character(I've only read the first few chapters myself)
So last year not only did I meet a Pratchett lookalike/soundalike but he was also playing a historical figure who had personally met the unseen university faculty .Its a funny old world.
