I thought under the last cost cutting measures on the project it was going to stop just short of the airport so everyone had to carry their bags the last mile

Airbus from Waverley station is really good, regular and reliable so no need for the tramway anyway
It gets stuck in the traffic at times a couple times I've had a bit of a sweat on, the tram when it comes will be quicker due to no traffic hold ups, and I think it's now going into the Airport but don't know for definite.

Thanks Anilori! Looks interesting.

A subterranean tunnel maybe? Like the underground river he gets washed down in Thud!
nah you can see the lightning in the sky, dont think it looks like a waterfall either, the white crest makes it look like a tidal wave to me.

You're right!

Maybe a very narrow valley then. ;)

Or maybe my theory about it being the Disc's equivalent of the River Styx may not be so far off. It may have been done before in Wintersmith, but Terry does tend to recycle ideas.

Seeing the huge differences between the earlier sketches and the finished cover makes me withdraw my original assertion that this was a balloon of some sort. Definitely seems like a boat of some kind, although seeing how one os the roots of one of trees sees to go through the paddle wheel suggests that there must be some kind of mythic stuff going on--maybe the boat is the meachanized equivalent of Binky!

What about when Vimes realised he was going to be a Dad and had 'visions' of large waves rising over him about to crash on his happiness.

Why call it Snuff? There are two things I kniow regardinbg Snuff... One is the appalling powder sniffed up the nose by people who should know better (it makes peple sneexe and is hell to get out of clothes!)
and
Tthe other is a movie where people die for real!

I wait with interest.

Oh, and supposing there are Feegles in it? ;)

It's also the charred part of a candlewick and to examine something by sniffing it. If something is good, we say it's 'up to snuff'. If we extinguish something we 'snuff it out'. :)
