Stop Press!!

At the DWCon, at the Terry and Rob bedtime stories last night, Rob read from a new book which is currently work in progress called "Snuff".
It's about goblins and starts off with Sam Vimes going away on holiday for two weeks with Sybil to their country house. :p

Don't know what happened to Raising Taxes.

Sounds good! As to Raising Taxes - well Terry seems to sometimes put an idea on hold if he gets inspiration for another book that he really wants to write. At the Clarecraft event in 2005 he was talking about Unseen Academicals, but as we know, several other books got written before that one.

Personally I'd rather have something other than another Moist book. ;)

Wow! That's HUGE!

With goblins in it, you gotta wonder if this is going to be a sequel to "UA" with Nutt and Glenda (and maybe Mightily Oats) dealing with the "lost goblin" problem.

I'll take this over "Raising Taxes" anytime!

Somewhere in the world, on someone's desk is the first finished draft of a new Guards book. That thought makes me happy. :)

Then again, in several bookshops in my town centre right now they're holding 'I Shall Wear' under Embargo. Which is just annoying. :(

*searches for old crowbar*

My point being, I'm very looking forward to another guards one :) Any news on plot? Apart from Vimes taking a holliday at the beginning, did I read somewhere? I wonder where the Snuff (is that in Snuff Film?) comes into it :) Dammit, where is that crowbar? :/

Sorry for the long absense. Back to school and theres loads of stuff going on the now.

As for snuff, i like the idea of another watch book. Although it was only a few yeard ago since Thud!, its only 1 books a year now so its good to get a few more books of the recurring chracters in.

Hopefully it'll be to the standard of the other book. Anyone know whre i can read the extract?

Interesting - if there is a finished first draft of Snuff, I have to ask: how long, on average, does it usually take for a book to go from first draft to being 100% finished?

If the answer is 'not very long' then perhaps Terry could get this out, say, next Spring so that he goes back to having two books published per year? :)

Sorry, I know I'm being incredibly greedy but, well, it's Terry. It's Discworld. Need I say more? ;)
