Wednesday 13th July, only three months from publication of SNUFF we can exclusively reveal that the first five characters to grace it’s pages are:

1.Lord Vetinari
2.Drumknott
3.Commander Sir Samuel Vimes
4.Sergeant Cheery Littlebottom
5.Captain Carrot

You can read more and look back at previous months sneak peaks by clicking here
I'm hoping it's a significant role because of late she's gone from major character to being a minor character like Visit. The person I feel most sorry for is Reg Shoe he hasn't had a role for ages

They are "the first 5 characters from the first pages".

Which leaves something to speculate/deduce upon.

From that list, it is relatively obvious to me that this is a scene in Vetinari's bureau, he and Drumknott are there, and they are talking or listening on findings regarding something that is going on in the town - so that the "police" must be interested in it.

Crime.

And the presence of Cheery and Carrot might hint to something regarding Dwarves.

June's SNUFF Footnote! SPOILER ALERT:

Here is your first, facebook world exclusive glimpse of a footnote from new Discworld novel Snuff!

FOOTNOTE

* It was all a mystery to Vimes, who was absolutely sure that it was impossible to tell the difference between a chicken fart and a turkey fart, but there were those who professed to be able to do so, and he was glad that such people had chosen this outlet for their puzzling inclinations rather than, for example, fill their sink with human skulls, collected in the high street.

Snuff is available to buy in hardback on the 13th October

I hope our newest member The Major doesn't go to the site. Right up at the top they use "it's" instead of its.

Also, they claim that Snuff is the 11th DW book to 'feature' the Watch. I count only 9:

1. Guards! Guards!
2. Men at Arms
3. Feet of Clay
4. Jingo
5. Fifth Elephant
6. The Truth (and this is questionable, since not all Watch characters are in it and the book is mostly about William De Worde and the Times)
7. Night Watch
8. Thud!
9. Snuff

I don't count books where only selected members of the Watch make only cameo appearances, like Monstrous Regiment (where they aren't even acting as watchmen), I Shall Wear Midnight, Going Postal or Making Money. So where are the other two books the "feature" the Watch?

Hmmm, that's an interesting one

I expect they are counting Monstrous regiment where Vimes does play a moderately significant role,

but which other? Angua's brief appearance in UA? but then why not the others?

usual inaccurate marketing I fear
