His straightness refers to his honesty, not his sexual orientation! Maybe if they see each other in the buff... actually, Colon saw Carrot in the nud once, maybe there's something going on there ;)

I wouldn't put it beyond Colon to be a closet gay; the way his marriage is being described even strongly suggests it. But Colon and Nobby - no way! Having a sexual relationship with Nobby would fall under "masochism".

Just saw THIS on the PJSM website.

Not sure how long it will stay on the "News" page, so here's the text:

According to the writer of the best selling crime novel ever to have been published in the city of Ankh-Morpork, it is a truth universally acknowledged that a policeman taking a holiday would barely have had time to open his suitcase before he finds his first corpse.

And Commander Sam Vimes of the Ankh-Morpork City Watch is on holiday in the pleasant and innocent countryside, but not for him a mere body in the wardrobe, but many, many bodies and an ancient crime more terrible than murder.

He is out of his jurisdiction, out of his depth, out of bacon sandwiches, occasionally snookered and occasionally out of his mind, but not out of guile. Where there is a crime there must be a finding, there must be a chase and there must be a punishment.

They say that in the end all sins are forgiven.

But not quite all…

I hope the book has a lot of hidden depth because that synopsis just sounds like a Poirot episode. My missus is a huge Agatha Christie nut and all of the=ose murder myteries just seem the to me now.
thankfully they don't give everything away nine months before release.
Sounds like a similar premise to Jingo with Vimes out of his depth though and i loved Jingo.
