I've just finished watching the first episode of the new (and last) series of Spooks on BBC 1 and was wondering if any others on this forum had seen it, and would like to discuss it. (Even though it is now tragically free of Richard Armitage.)

I thought the way this episode was put together was different to previous series, and I can't say that I liked it much. All the scenes inside Thames House seemed to be very blue/black/grey and made everything look ridiculously clinical and hi-tec, in my opinion.

The new section chief I also found fairly repugnant, and caused me to instantly hope that she's killed off or shipped abroad in Episode 2. However, some of the past main characters (Adam Carter and Ros Myers, for instance), I found completely unlikeable to begin with, and then cried like a baby when they left the show in various explosions.

The following is in white as it contains spoilers.

The plot line involving Harry's biological son I thought was completely predictable from the word go. I'm not sure whether to be disappointed or not.

I dearly hope someone else watches it and responds to this thread.

[/b] Please don't leave me hanging chaps!!

I've only ever watched one episode of Spooks.

I think it was a series finalé, and Harry (?) got shot.

The titles went up in complete silence. No music, no voiceover.

I thought it was very well done.

Nowadays, of course, you get DOGs, voiceovers, "coming next" banners all over the place.

It was fairly good Needed a "chip-fryer" moment though
Are you referring to that bit in the second episode (I think it was) when that poor woman got first her hand, and then her head shoved into a fryer?

That was definitely one of the grisliest deaths.

Dammit I just can't stand that new woman. Going in at the same time as CO19 and going 'Er.. STOP?' in her stupid bloody heels. It's not very credible. :(
