so.... he's only directed the transformers and Bad Boys films? transformers was the only remake he directed, and those and the bad boys films are the only sequels.
Look, i know its fashionable to hate on Michael bay since enjoys making films that are fun and spectacle and not intellectual (except for The Island, though most people forget about that). And i think that is what cheezes people off the most, that they are for fun and not thinking man movies (mostly), and yet make huge amounts at the box office. I get that that is offensive to a certain type of person. I disagree. I found the TF movies to be entertaining, intelligent? possibly not, but fun. (and i found the 3rd film to be the best of the series, but thats me.) Not every film has to be a Hitchcock, or kubrick, or whichever your high class filmmaking sensibilities are. Nothing wrong with just having fun.
And you aren't going to find a bigger TMNT fan on this forum then me, but this doesn't bother me. In fact, quite the opposite. i've had a certain kind of film in mind since the early days of the franchise. A type of film i think the franchise deserves. something big, over the top, action packed, big budget. and Bay is, i feel, one of the best of the current crop of directors/producers to bring that kind of TMNT film to the big screen. Frankly, the only other one that got me as excited was when John Woo was briefly attached to a Live Action TMNT film. And with Eastman involved (it has to be him since Laird left the franchise for good not to long ago) only makes it even better.
