Whenever I read the carpet people I feel like I'm going back in time to TPratchett "the younger years" the background fading to black and white like those old films He was only 17 remember, it's impressive when you think about 17 year olds these days, most parents will tell you their child doesn't read but TPratchett actually wrote a pretty decent one thats still being read even now at that age......

And his first published story, The Hades Business, was written in 1963, when he was around 15.

Actually, I just looked it up and he was 13 when the story was published in the school magazine. It was later commercially published.

I ADORE The Carpet People, it's one of my favourites I love Terry's little illustrations too. I think it's a fabulous and really original concept.

Yes i agree with you there Antiq, I enjoyed teh suspense of them being in fear of attack all the time
